2026–27 LCS Staff Pre-K Registration Information

We are excited to share important updates about the Pre-Kindergarten (PK) registration process for the 2026–27 school year. Please note that this year’s process is different from previous years.

Registration Timeline

PK/VPK registration for the 2026–27 school year will take place in the Focus Parent Portal.

• Registration Opens: January 7
• Registration Closes: March 1
• School Choice Form Due: March 1
• Staff Priority Placement Decisions: March 13
• Families Must Accept School Assignment in Focus By: March 27

Required Documents

Families will upload all registration documents directly into the Focus Parent Portal, including:

• Two proofs of residence (POR)
• Current immunization record
• Physical examination
• Signed 2026–27 VPK Certificate of Eligibility

A School Choice form must also be submitted to indicate the PK site your family is requesting.

Staff Priority for School Selection

LCS employees receive priority consideration when selecting a PK site for their child. In most cases, staff will receive their requested school unless that school has reached full capacity.
Staff priority placement decisions will be finalized by March 13.

Families must accept their assigned school in Focus no later than March 27.

Optional Developmental Screening

If you have concerns about your child’s development or readiness, optional screenings are available Monday through Friday. The PK Office will schedule these appointments for families as needed.
Screenings are supportive tools and are not required for PK placement.
